StoryBook Rescues is a 501(c)(3) foster-based animal rescue dedicated to enhancing the lives of homeless animals. We believe every animal deserves a safe, loving home where they are treated like family. Through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and spay/neuter programs, we are committed to giving every animal the opportunity for a brighter future.

about Storybook rescues
MERRICK STERN, FOUNDER
Merrick is the coolest cat... lady you will ever meet! In 2019, Merrick transformed her farm in Cat Spring, Texas into a 45-acre animal sanctuary for anything with four legs, wings, or a tail. The name Storybook Farms encapsulates her vision of being a place where all animals can live happily ever after.

If you need help rehoming any animal, domestic or wild, SBR can help by either rescuing/fostering the animal ourselves or finding someone who can through our network of like-minded animal advocates.
Meet the Pack
You've heard the saying "it's like herding cats!" Well, thanks to our amazing team, we're able to help herd and rescue dogs, horses, donkeys, birds, pigs and pretty much anything with four legs, feathers, or a tail!
Volunteers Wanted
It takes a village to make our sanctuary thrive! SBR welcomes all types of volunteers... scouting organizations earning merit badges, students needing community service hours, and retirees filling their days with love and adventure are just some of the amazing volunteers we already work with.
Come visit
At SBR, we know our animal sanctuary can be just as therapeutic for many of our human friends. That's why our doors are always open to anyone looking to spend some time in nature, fishing, enjoying a picnic lunch, or learning all about a day in the life of running a funny farm of rescue animals.

SBR is also happy to host members of Harvest Hosts. If you're interested in RV camping, Harvest Hosts is an online platform that connects travelers with hospitable hosts in unique destinations.
